Nina the Fortunate

Postby ifihadahifi » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:06 pm

I was going to brag yesterday that I was an uncle all over again.
But the busy life and the dreadful news distracted me.

My niece was born Sunday. She was a full month early but fortunately, she's healthy as any other and will be coming home soon. They named her Nina and she barely broke five pounds.

My brother is on an iron-clad "family bonding" leave from his job as a police officer so he can be home with his other kids and take care of his wife and new baby girl. It's a leave that keeps him from being called up regardless of the emergency.

Yesterday he would have been a responder to the Virginia Tech shooting.

I think Nina knew what she was doing.

Welcome, baby Nina! I guess she inherited her dad's ability to protect. . . thank God!

So glad she is healthy, too! My friends Shawn and Jen had a baby Monday night. A boy. Maybe they can date in about 18 years. . .
