So it goes

Postby KathrynTheGreat » Thu Apr 12, 2007 4:26 am

When a certain humanist spoke at a certain other humanist's funeral, he said, "Isaac is in heaven now." Which, of course, was the funniest thing you could say to a crowd of humanists. And now it's the funniest thing I can say in memory of an author who has meant so much to me.

Kurt Vonnegut is in Heaven now.

;(
Due to the economy, I had to let my signature go.

I remember thinking Timequake was a kind of depressing goodbye, and that was ten years ago.

You know these things are coming, the man was 84 years old after all, but it's always a shock when it happens. RIP Mr. Vonnegut, one of the true heroes in my life.

Stolen from The Guardian:
As Vonnegut's writing career went on, his critical reception declined. "I have to keep reminding myself that I wrote those early books", he admitted. "I wrote that. I wrote that. The only way I can regain credit for my early work is - to die."
Funny guy.

"'Hippity hop,' said Eliot emptily."

I've never grown a lulu pube.
But I'll always be searching for one thanks to Kurt.

he made my senior year of highschool tolerable and is the only reason i went to my 8th period class - we were reading god bless you mr. rosewater. so he's actually the reason i graduate highschool. probably. he really is my favorite writer though. i feel sad.
