Second Life

Postby aquaphase » Tue Jul 25, 2006 6:38 pm

OK, so Second Life is this "Sims" like reality/online game where you look and do whatever you want, can build anything you want allowing it to pretty much do anything. I've been hearing about it for over a year, but, amazingly, I resisted until last week.

OMFK! I really understand why it's called Second Life. I'm on the cusp of having a quite successful business as a tattoo artist, and I could ditch it all tomorrow to build racecars if I so desired.

Have any of you other Forkers delved into this altered reality? It's pretty damn fantastic. Real authors and lecturers give talks, people put on theater, dance parties break out all over the place, and you can shoot the shit of out each other if that makes you happy.

Where else could you seek to buy the penis of your choice?

Squeezle and I both bought DS lites this weekend. I'm guessing you are playing Animal Crossing? What's your linkup code (if you are online)? I'll post mine when I get home if anyone wants to visit Goatburg.

edit:
Oh, and I've been known over the past few days to both partake in the DS and Second Life at the same time. Portable gaming rocks.

I can atest to that - I am about to have to start my second life as a sad, single cat lady ;)

I've found that it's best to shut down all other applications before jaunting into the Second-verse. Especially if you want to stream the music or movies that people put out there.

You children and your short attention spans. Look at the giant shiny "free account" button right on the front page. I haven't paid dime one for anything. I am going to probably upgrade to a Premium account to build me stuff, but you can freebie it for as long as you want.

it said you can have a basic account for free until the 7 days is up, then they charge you a "one time fee" of 10 bucks. either way, i can't afford to get addicted to another game.
