at the door... alcohol?
---------------
At 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 100 artists will have their work auctioned off in the historic Club-Formerly-Known-As-The-Gypsy-Tearoom now known as The Door.
St. Anthony's Mime Group, Sarah Jaffe, Kristy Kruger, Red Monroe and DJs will play in between the live art auctions.
Art Conspiracy is one-of-a-kind event because participating artists do their work on site the day before. The artists are issued a canvas and given an allotted period of time to complete their work. Artists bring in their own materials and ideas and work to fill as many canvasses as possible in a 24-hour period leading up to the start of the event. Starting bids for all pieces will be $20.
The proceeds from Art Con are reinvested in the local arts economy. This year our beneficiary is St. Anthony’s Community Center, a center that provides arts and music programming to 800+ children who live in South Dallas.

That would be a positively, absolutely, big, fat no.at the door... alcohol?
And Katie, you aren't missing much.
the best thing about this show two years ago is that it was in the old texas theater(where Oswald was captured) and deathray and pleasant grove and BIG OLE PACKAGE!!!!. and byob.
The best thing about last year was the longhorn ballroom. and salim and it seems peter schmidt. the beer was costly. we drank wine in the car.
Take the alcohol away and you are kinda left with not a fun party. blah.

It had been mentioned a few times beforeRest in peace, sweet gypsy.
*pour one out*

I'm sure they kept it, street-cred-by-association and all.I wonder what happened to all the photo memorabilia on the walls of the Tea Room. There was one picture there that always meant a lot to me.
They probably just painted little crucafixes around everyone's neck.
