I wanna gooo.

I'm a travel whore though - I'll go anywhere I've never been before if I get the chance and can afford it.

I think I've got Jenny lined up as a roomie too. Flights from DFW are only $200!

Hey, if any of you need help with hotels listings/locations I'd be glad to share the info. Restaurants, extra activities, public trans info. I know the downtown area really well.

I've stayed at or know people who've stayed at different hotels in the loop, so if you have any questions, let me know. Right now I know of two that are directly across the street from Grant Park. One is pricey and really nice. The other is one of those "past it's glory" old hotels and a little more beat up and therefore should be cheaper (I'm sure they'll jack the price up for that weekend). My cousin stayed there a few years ago and it was okay.
There are others within walking/the L /taxi limits. They all are going to cost some moola so don't let the prices shock ya. (And watch for the extra parking fees if you rent a car.)

It's only a few hours (6-ish) drive for me, so I'm quite tempted to. I dunno, though, Pitchfork's fest in June seems to have a better lineup this year. Then again, my best friend should be back by then and a mini road trip could be awesome then.

So...maybe.

Sam has done some research and found some pretty good deals, we think.

(S -- please ask Ree-Ree here about the neighborhoods/hotels you found.)

And. . . anyone up for a game at Wrigley field on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 3)?

Be sure and attempt to get cubbies tickets now. My friend and I waited 2 days in the "Virtual Waiting Room" hell that is cubbies online ticketing to no avail.

Also, take a jacket to the game. We went to a game in May, and, while it was 70 degrees in Chicago, the wind blowing in off the lake made it a chilling 43 inside Wrigley.

*gets giddy at the thought of wearing a jacket on an afternoon in August*

I would go to a game for sure (and depending on the time, Jack could be interested), but tickets are really hard to come by.

I stopped trying years ago :( And now depend on the kindness of strangers.
Count me in if you have any luck!

And as far as info. help, what would you like to know? Do you want to e-mail me or call me?

Send me a pm :D

I think I will shell out for a ticket on this one. What do you guys think?

I'd like to see what a US fest is like, and it would be fun to go with you guys. I'll check with Tyler, 'cause he'll probably grumble and won't want to go :D

When you check with him about Lollapalooza, give him hell because he still hasn't sent that mythical Christmas mix CD to Russell.

Jenny and I are booked at the Best Western being advertised on the Lollapalooza site. I booked it cheeper at bestwestern.com though. The 'palooza package breaks out to $300 / night.

For a BEST. WESTERN.

Uh, no.
